- Programs or services
- Pet Food Fund - Provides free pet food and basic supplies such as collars, pee pads, etc.
Free Veterinary Care Fund - Provides free veterinary care for our target beneficiaries. - Detailed programs
- We currently have two programs, or "funds."
Pet Food Fund: 1 household or unhoused individual is allowed to apply twice annually. They must be active duty military, a veteran, or a civilian considered low income or unhoused. The eligibility tier for low income is available upon request and on our website. We provide pet food and basic supplies, such as collars, pee pads, etc., through an application process. We accept monetary donations to our Pet Food Fund, purchase pet food and/or supplies, and have them shipped directly to the beneficiary's doorstep. Due to lack of temperature-controlled storage, we do not accept in-kind donations of pet food for distribution.
Free Veterinary Care Fund- 1 household or unhoused individual is allowed to apply 1 time annually. They must be active duty military, a veteran, or a civilian considered low income or unhoused. The eligibility tier for low income is available upon request and on our website. While funds are available, we provide a mini-grant to this household, which is set at a specific denomination for that year. (ie: 2025 $350 voucher, 2026 $300 voucher) - Target Audience

Funding & Grant Guidelines
- Grant categories you fund
- Aging and Seniors, Financial Assistance, Homeless, In-Kind Support, Pets and Animal Wildlife, Veterans and Military
- Funding priorities
- We request funding to help us support active-duty military, veterans, and underserved civilians with in-kind donations of pet food, basic pet supplies, and monetary donations to cover free veterinary care for these communities.
- Geographic funding areas
- Free Veterinary Care funds may be used for any pets in the home, at any of our partner veterinarians. If these partner vets are unable to provide care, and care must be provided at a vet we do not work with, Traci's Paws must pay the vet directly.
- Typical grant size
- $40-$300
- Typical number of grants given in a cycle
- 150
- Deadlines
- May apply as needed while funding is available. All free veterinary care funds must be used within 90 days.
- Eligibility requirements
- All Active- Duty military or veterans with proper ID, and underserved Civilians (low-income tier available upon request)
- Grant application process
- We accept applications for mini grants for pet food and supplies and vet care.
Links to both applications are found on our website and social media.
Requirements include proof of ID for active-duty military personnel and veterans. For low-income civilians, eligibility is based on the number of income earners in your household and the combined household income. The unhoused community may state if they are in a specific shelter or "other", so we can locate assistance to ensure they receive funding or pet food and supplies.
Funding Needs
- Grant categories you're seeking
- Aging and Seniors, Financial Assistance, Homeless, Pets and Animal Wildlife, Veterans and Military
- Funding needs
- We currently seek funding for some operating costs, such as the annual fee for temperature-controlled storage, so we can start accepting in-kind donations of pet food from the general public, which would positively impact our mission to serve more people when our monetary donations are down.
We are seeking funding for our Pet Food Fund and our Free Veterinary Care Fund because demand is greater than the incoming monetary donations. We keep a waitlist, and with proper funding, we could assist all families in need who apply for financial assistance.
Donors may state where funds are to be allocated, i.e., only to our Pet Food Fund, or storage, etc.
